Innovation projects

Components

The South Metropolitan Territorial Management (GTMS, for its acronym in Catalan) of the Institut Català de la Salut (Catalan Institute of Health – ICS for its acronym in Catalan) is committed to fostering innovation in healthcare with three main aims:

1. Promoting integrated care across the facilities in our territory.

2. Prioritising patient experience and empowerment.

3. Harnessing the benefits of artificial intelligence to enhance health outcomes. In response to this, the Innovation Area has implemented an innovation model that drives the initiatives of the GTMS. Our model aims to achieve four key objectives: 1. Fostering the growth of innovation projects and ensuring their successful implementation. 2. Embedding the DNA of the innovation culture within our organisation. 3. Cultivating a vibrant and collaborative ecosystem that nurtures innovation. 4. Conducting thorough evaluations to assess the outcomes and impact of our innovation endeavours. The GTMS has been a pioneer in establishing a hybrid working model in which the Innovation Area works hand in hand with the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL, for its acronym in Catalan) and the University Institute for Primary Health Care Research (IDIAP, for its acronym in Catalan), aligning efforts and pooling resources to achieve the best results. We also work with the Local Innovation Commissions (CILs, for its acronym in Catalan) of each institution of the GTMS (Bellvitge University Hospital, Viladecans Hospital, Metrosud Primary Care). The CILs are the operational arm of innovation with professionals.
