This Monday has opened the doors of the new multipurpose space of the Bellvitge Hospital, built in a record time of 3 months and 19 days, with which the center gains 64 new conventional beds and 48 emergency care points of Covid -19. In total, Bellvitge Hospital now has 809 conventional hospital beds and 90 critical beds.

In addition, it has once again become the Catalan hospital that has won the most organ donors.

The hospital has also led statewide asylum donations.

UCRI’s work with noninvasive respiratory therapies has been instrumental in reducing the impact of the pandemic on patients with severe pneumonia. The unit’s professionals have cared for more than 500 patients during 2020.
