Socially responsible

Corporate Social Responsibility is a way of leading organizations based on the sustainable management of the impacts that the activity generates on its users, workers, local communities, the environment and, in general, on society.

Four main lines of action: organization, people, environment and community.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) not only appeals to the individual ethics of the people who make up the organizations, but also to the organization itself, in its processes, impacts and management.

On September 25, 2015, world leaders adopted the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a set of 17 global objectives that establish that poverty eradication must go hand in hand with strategies that promote economic growth and address a series of social needs such as education, health, social protection and employment prospects, while combating climate change and protecting the environment. These objectives are known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and each of them has specific goals that must be achieved in the coming years.

From the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Bellvitge Hospital and within the framework of the RSC Plan 2021-23 we contribute to achieving 11 of the 17 SDGs.

The different actions are grouped into 4 main areas of action:

Corporate Social Responsibility Plan 2024-2025

The main objectives of the CSR Plan 2024-2025 of the ICS are to establish CSR, to monitor it and to carry out a periodic and transparent evaluation to promote a sustainable, solidary and healthy company, based on self-knowledge and collective responsibility of all the people who are part of the most important health company in Catalonia.

A real commitment is needed to be a benchmark institution in CSR, and to be pioneers in developing and spreading it. This Action Plan puts at the centre of the institution professionals, patients and citizens, who are the groups of interest with the greatest weight in the activity of the entity, with a care model based on participation and a system supported by values.
