Innobaix and Bellvitge University Hospital join forces to generate innovation and knowledge with impact on health

-

The Innobaix Association and the ICS’s Southern Metropolitan Territorial Management of have signed a collaboration agreement with the common aim of encouraging and promoting innovation in the field of health.

The agreement was signed by Lluís Bahamonde, president of Innobaix, and Dr Montserrat Figuerola, territorial manager of the South Metropolitan Area.

The collaboration between the two entities will enable the innovations developed at Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB) to reach the market through companies and startups in the Innobaix network, which is the Baix Llobregat and Hospitalet Innovation and Knowledge Agency. This collaboration could also work in the opposite direction, as many of the solutions provided by the companies could be useful for the hospital’s work.

Both Innobaix and the HUB will deploy coordination spaces to propose common initiatives and projects that lead to innovative solutions. In addition, and in a shared way, new knowledge will be generated to create new models of integrated and person-centred healthcare. The agreement also opens the door to potential joint projects involving new services for the people and professionals of the Southern Metropolitan Territorial Management. Finally, it is planned that both entities will develop activities, workshops, contents and innovation tours, with the aim of disseminating knowledge and generating opportunities.

The Southern Metropolitan Territorial Management of the Catalan Institute of Health manages Bellvitge Hospital and Viladecans Hospital, as well as the Southern Metropolitan Primary Care.
