Bellvitge University Hospital extends visiting hours in non-COVID areas

-

The Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB) is extending its visiting hours for patients in non-COVID areas as of next Monday, 14 March. Thus, the new visiting hours will be from 13:00 to 21:00 pm from Monday to Sunday, and from 9:00 to 21:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. There can only be one visitor per patient, although they may be different ones per shift.

In the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Reanimation Unit, visiting hours will be from 13:30 to 15:00 and from 20:00 to 21:00, and in the Postoperative Reanimation Unit, from 19:00 to 20:00 with only one visitor per patient. In exceptional cases, and by agreement between the medical team and the families, these hours may be more flexible.

In Emergency, Outpatients' Departments, Cabinets and the Major Outpatient Surgery Unit, one visitor per patient will be allowed. In semi-critical units, the visiting hours will be all week from 13:00 to 15:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00, for just one person.

As a rule, access to family members in the COVID area will continue to be denied. Exceptionally, a visitor will be allowed in specific situations, such as for patients with the CUIDA'm card or minors, patients with severe cognitive impairment, or situations in the last hours of life.

The sustained improvement of the epidemiological situation as well as the decrease of COVID admissions thanks to the percentage of fully vaccinated population allow us to recover the usual visitation schedules.

Once again, we are grateful for the public understanding during these months in the face of the limitations on visits that have had to be implemented due to the pandemic.
