Therapeutic walks get under way

-

Groups of 10 to 12 patients from the Bellvitge Hospital Psychiatry Service have joined the new therapeutic walks promoted by this service. These walks, which take place two or three times a week, start and finish at the hospital.

This initiative aims to promote healthy habits and social interaction, reducing the risk of isolation and promoting support networks, as well as knowledge of the Llobregat Delta environment closest to the hospital.

Accompanied by staff from the hospital, voluntarily hospitalized pacients take part in the hiking routes, which last about an hour, and discover the historical heritage and unique areas of the environment.

In this regard, a few days ago an activity linked to photography was launched. This activity encourages participants to take pictures of the places they like the most along the route, as well as the phrases written on the numerous graffiti that can be found. A collection of the best photographs will be exhibited at the Psychiatric Service and Outpatient Clinic.

These therapeutic walks are among the many activities included in the "12 months for Mental Health" program, a calendar of actions to improve the mental health and the emotional well-being of patients, their families and healthcare professionals throughout 2024.
