The aim of the Unit is to support the approach, planning and implementation of research projects by researchers at Bellvitge University Hospital, i.e. mainly clinical research projects with drugs or other therapeutic strategies.
Support to the researcher is based on methodological and regulatory advice, as well as support for the implementation of projects, mainly clinical trials. The responsibilities of the principal investigators of clinical trials at the Territorial Functional Unit for Clinical Research Support are also supported.
On the other hand, service is provided to researchers who act as promoters of independent clinical trials through UICEC IDIBELL, which is part of the Scren Platform (Spanish Clinical Research Network) of the Carlos III Healthcare Institute and is the representative of the ECRIN network in Spain.
The Research Support Unit has received funding from the Generalitat de Catalunya and ERDF funds from the European Union.
