Bellvitge Hospital, in solidarity with the people of Ukraine

Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB) has sent material, clothing and medical equipment to Ukraine in a special transport that left on 16 February. On the one hand, thousands of waterproof and isolation gowns and masks. On the other, electromedical equipment, such as anaesthesia trolleys, respirators and monitors, among others. This material will contribute to the assistance of the Ukrainian population, a year after the beginning of the Russian invasion.

The consignment prepared at the HUB includes essential medical clothing such as 11,000 waterproof gowns, 2,500 isolation gowns and 4,000 FP3 masks. In terms of technical equipment, 2 anaesthesia trolleys, 1 semi-critical ventilator, 5 continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices, 8 monitors and 15 transport ventilators have been sent from the HUB.

The shipment has been made possible thanks to the involvement of the Purchasing and Electromedicine units as well as to the managing of the entire process by the HUB’s Management and the International Relations and Cooperation Area of the Catalan Health Department, which was in charge of the transportation.
