Dr. Maria Foglia Fern delndez has been a specialist in Otorhinolaryngology (Bellvitge University Hospital) since 1997 and has a PhD in Medicine from the Rovira i Virgili University since 2013. In attendance, she has more than 25 years of clinical experience as an otorhinolaryngologist and more than 20 years dedicated to university teaching in the Degree of Medicine as an associate professor in the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the URV.

Since July 2025, she is the new Head of the Otorhinolaryngology Service at Bellvitge University Hospital, associate professor in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the Bellvitge Campus of the University of Barcelona, member of the Functional Unit of Head and Neck Tumors at Bellvitge Hospital and researcher at the Bellvitge-Idibell Biomedical Research Institute.

Specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with auditory disorders, as shown by the topic of their doctoral thesis and subsequent research studies, directing several final degree projects on this topic. He has also dedicated his efforts to oncological pathology and is part of the Oncology Commission of the Catalan Society of ORL, with a research activity and multicentre collaboration that is reflected in the publication of common guides and reference works at the state level.

As a result of clinical research, it is the publication of numerous articles in journals indexed in the WoS database, located in Q1 and D1, as well as the writing of several clinical practice guides.

Committed to management, she has expanded her training through several management courses and recently completed the Postgraduate in Leadership, Management Skills and Management Development in Organizations at the University of Vic. Their way of understanding the profession is based on involvement, contributing to improve the health of the population and the training of new specialists. She is a member of several scientific societies and is currently the President of the Reus Philial of the Academy of Medical Sciences and a member of the Catalan Society of Tyroids.

She develops an active role in the organization of scientific sessions and congresses, and has participated as an advisor to the Catalan Health Service of the Generalitat de Catalunya, including collaboration in the expert working group for the preparation of the ORL and CVF pathology approach guide.
