On Friday 25 March, a new Technical Clinical Session was broadcasted from the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB) as part of the postgraduate course in Endoscopic Ultrasonography Specialisation (USE) of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). Together with the HUB, the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau de Barcelona, the Hospital Universitario Mútua de Terrassa and the Centro Médico Teknon are also collaborating in the design, preparation and implementation of the training action
This "live" was one of the Technical Clinical Sessions programmed in this postgraduate training at the UOC. The most important challenges in the application of endoscopic ultrasonography are presented in a practical way.
The practical part of the programme is designed for the trainees to gain experience based on the application of the theoretical knowledge. Among other topics, it covers the incorporation of specific applications of technologies for the improvement of diagnosis, therapeutics and management, and advances in the genetic field, into the clinical management and evaluation systems.
This live connection of real clinical procedures has been presented by Dr Joan B. Gornals, director of the endoscopy programme and specialist in Digestive System at the Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge, and Dr Modesto Varas, from the Centro Médico Teknon and Sanitas CIMA in Barcelona.
