When atogepant, one of the newest preventive treatments for migraine, arrived in hospitals in 2024, clinical trials had already demonstrated its effectiveness in preventing migraine. What was still unknown was whether it would also work in people who had already exhausted all other available preventive options.

A recent study led by Dr. Marta Simó and Dr. Jordi Bruna, principal investigators of the Neurooncology group at Hospital de Bellvitge-IDIBELL-ICO, in collaboration with members of the Functional Lung Unit, such as Dr. Susana Padrones and Dr. Ernest Nadal, was recently published in the journal Neurology.
