The Wave of gratitude launched by Sant Celoni’s Colla Gegantera reaches Bellvitge Hospital

-

Three weeks ago Sant Celoni’s Colla de Geganters i Grallers launched a project to distinguish the work of hospitals, Primary Health Centres and other health centres all over Catalonia. Today it has arrived at the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB) with their giant Mau.

With the Wave of gratitude, the giant Mau collects some hospitals' post-pandemic wishes and offers a short parade to close this festive recognition.

The group's delegation, led by its president, Jordi Deumal, was received today at the HUB by a group of professionals headed by the manager of the ICS’s South Metropolitan Region, Dr Montserrat Figuerola.

Dr Figuerola was in charge of delivering the HUB's wish: to have the necessary human and technological resources to continue caring for the health of the population with the maximum guarantees, "as the pandemic has confirmed that public health system workers have always been there".

Afterwards, Jordi Deumal read a manifesto of gratitude to recognise the efforts of the entire health community and presented Dr Figuerola with a diploma stating his gratitude to all the health staff who responded to COVID-19.

In three weeks, the Wave of gratitude of the Sant Celoni group has travelled some 1,800 km throughout the country, visiting around fifty healthcare centres. The wishes they have collected in hospitals and other healthcare centres will be delivered to the Minister of Health, Josep Maria Argimón.
