Dr. Daniel Ortiz i Berbel studied Medicine at the University of Barcelona on the Hospital Clínic campus, where he graduated with an Extraordinary Degree Award in 2000. He subsequently obtained a specialist training position in Cardiovascular Surgery via resident internship at Bellvitge University Hospital, where he completed his specialty in 2006. Since then, he has worked as an attending cardiovascular surgeon at this hospital. His subspecialty areas include coronary artery bypass surgery without CPB, aortic valve and aortic root repair surgery, and heart transplantation and ventricular assist device (VAS).

- Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist. Cardiovascular Surgery Residency at Bellvitge University Hospital, 2001-2006.
